a bit of a catch up...

I must be a better blogger! Anyway...I'm back with a bit of a catch up! What have I been up to? Had a few Internet problems...a lovely big truck crashed into my car while driving, been away on a scrapping weekend, been preparing for Christmas (and thinking of ideas for making gifts) and looking at schools for Jack to start next year (arrghh!) So while away on the scrapping weekend I did several layouts, I'm going to show you a few today...so here goes...
A day in the Norfolk broads layout using some Crate Paper...

and finally a Papermaze kit page from a couple of months ago, I really like this one, it's very me and uses Echo Park papers. Some of you may have heard what happened to Papermaze (which is my LSS) if not take a look here http://scrappaperscissors.blogspot.com/2011/11/update.html, it's really sad but they are doing really well!

So another busy few weeks, but I 'll be back soon with another layout (one that I had been wanting to do for ages but finally it's complete!) Christmas ideas, A guest DT at scrap, paper, scissors and my Twisted Sketches layouts!
Thanks for looking!

A couple of layouts...

The first layout I have to show you today is from a Papermaze crop kit from a couple of months back now, it was designed by the lovely Lou Collins. I've kept it pretty much the same as the original this time!

This page used the technique of paint flicking, which I hadn't done since GCSE art several years ago! I will have to try it on another layout soon, it was good fun!

Next up...my latest twisted sketches layout....this week's twist was twine, which I am really enjoying using at the moment! You can see the sketch and the rest of the DT's layouts here!!

I used a picture from a mini-cruise hen weekend that I went on earlier in the year, we had so much fun!

I have lots of catching up to do with my own scrapping at the mo, so the scrapbooking weekend that I am going on at the end of the month, couldn't come at a better time!

One of my best friends recently got married, I have been making her a whole album, on the wedding...including hen party/weekend, bridal shower, making invites, wedding diary and actual wedding pictures...it was great fun to make and she was so pleased with it, it's a lovely feeling! But I have to say I'm glad that I can get back to my own work now! I will show you some of the album later on in the week!

Thanks for looking!

Twisted Sketches no:120

So here is my layout for sketch 120 over at twisted sketches this week.

You can see the sketch and the rest of Team A's layouts here

This time I flipped the sketch around and used the twist of 'buttons' for embellishments.

This layout is all about Lee and Jack and their obsession with golf! I have a few pictures of them playing, but this is the first layout I have done.

I used Echo Park 'Happy Days' papers.

I have just been blog hopping for the new scrapbooking mag that is coming out in the UK soon...have you heard about it? It's called scrap365. I'm looking forward to getting the first copy when it comes out! If you haven't heard about it yet, check it out here and you can take part in their blog hop to meet the Design Team.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends!

'Oh happy day!'

My little boy has been loving the summer time, he's had so much fun playing outside and here

is a perfect example, I created this layout using the Echo Park Country Drive papers and stickers.

I used some bling and a cocktail stick to add on to one of the stickers to create a flag.

I'm loving using bakers twine at the moment too..

Butterfly Crafts June Challenge

The Butterfly Crafts June Challenge is now up on the blog here...
Have a look to check out the rest of the DT's work...this month's challenge is a sketch.

Regular readers may know that I do an album per year of day to day celebrations, events and days out etc documenting the year. Until this year I had done a layout for every month of the year with a few little pictures and journalling. Well I was getting a bit bored of that so for this year I decided to do a Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter Layout instead.
So I used this month's sketch challenge to create my first 'Spring' layout!

Supplies:
October Afternoon - 5 and Dime Papers
October Afternoon - 5 and Dime sticker sheet
American Crafts - Thickers
Brown Ink pad
3-D foam pads

This Week's...

Twisted Sketches sketch is up on the blog and here is my layout....

This week's twist was 'shine'...so I chose to make a sunshine...

This picture was taken on holiday in Spain this year and I have used Echo Park papers..

Yesterday was my birthday! I had a lovely day...I worked in the morning and had the whole nursery come in to my room to sing happy birthday, followed by a card, prezzie and a 'new look' (UK Clothes shop) bag shaped cake...amazing! I then went to a local spa for the afternoon with Lee which was lovely to chill out just us two! I had dinner in the evening with family and more cake!! Pictures appearing on layouts soon I'm sure!

Time Flys..

...when your having fun..where have the last 2 weeks gone? In the last two weeks I have been on a hen weekend and scrapbooking weekend, worked, scrapbooked and been on a few days out with the family! Anyway speaking of scrapbooking weekends...

Last weekend I went away Friday to Sunday scrapping, which was lovely, I do love going away to scrapbook you can get so much done...I think I did 10 pages this time.

I also designed a kit layout again, this time using Echo Park Summertime...here it is...

...and some close ups...

On this layout I used some glimmer misting, a little bit of stitching, and I created 3 rectangles using mostly the journalling cards..I then used them for the title, journalling and embellishments. I used lots of the stickers as well, with lots of 3d foam pads. The photo size that I used was 3x2.
